FC Arkadag became the champion of Turkmenistan ahead of schedule for the second year in a row

Football club “Arkadag” under the leadership of head coach Vladimir Bayramov has won the title of champion of Turkmenistan ahead of schedule for the second year in a row, the correspondent of Turkmenportal reports.

Today, the team representing the city of the same name of national importance, five rounds before the end of the national championship, won a convincing victory over Balkanabat “Nebitchi” with a score of 5:1.

Thanks to this victory, “Arkadag” broke away from its closest pursuer, “Ahal”, by an unattainable 23 points, securing the championship title.

“Arkadag” was founded in 2023 and represents the new “smart” city of the same name of national importance. In the very first year of its existence, the club achieved significant success, winning the championship of Turkmenistan and the country’s Cup.

Thanks to these victories, “Arkadag” received the right to participate in the AFC Challenge League, the third most important club tournament in Asia.The team will make its debut in this tournament on October 26 with a match against the Maldivian club Maziya.

Following the draw, Arkadag was placed in Group B, where its opponents will also be Abdysh-Ata from Kyrgyzstan and Al-Arabi from Kuwait.

According to the schedule, Arkadag will play three matches in the group stage: on October 26 against FC Maziya, on October 29 against Abdysh-Ata and on November 1 against Al-Arabi. All games will be held in Kuwait.
