Today, in the sacred month of Ramadan, at the age of 89 father of the President of Turkmenistan Malikguly Berdimuhamedov passed away. The Turkmen people received this bitter event with deep grief, as told in the information in which the facts of its biography and his life are mentioned.
Malikguly Berdimuhamedov was born on August 12, 1932 in the village of Birleshik-1 of Gokdepe district.The childhood of Malikguly Berdimuhamedov was coincided with the years of severe war of the last century.
Shortly before leaving school in his native settlement he decided to follow the footsteps of his father: since 1950 he worked as librarian, and later as teacher of primary classes at that school.
In 1952 he was drafted into the army. During service Malikguly Berdimuhamedov finished a school for training of younger officers in the city of Chirchik, Uzbekistan, and in 1954 in the rank of second lieutenant he served in the mountain troop’s military unit deployed in the Kirghiz city of Osh.
In 1956 Malikguly Berdimuhamedov worked at the secondary school of the village of Babarap.
From June, 1958 to 1982 he held various posts in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was the commander of the group, chief of the group, headed an active duty service centre, staff department, was the chief of the staff.
Leaving in 1982 with the rank of lieutenant colonel for honoured retirement, for many years he worked as teacher, training and bringing up the youth.He worked at the National Institute of Education, Scientific Research Institute of Pedagogical Sciences, education department of the city of Ashkhabad and in other places, having displayed his creative skill and faultlessly fulfilment of the task set up before himself.
In February, 2012, according to the decision of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the capital military unit №1001 was named after Malikguly Berdimuhamedov, the person, whose life path has become an example for many military men.
In November, 2020 with the decision of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan the residential area of Choganly of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan in the district of Bakhtiyarlyk of the capital was also named after Malikguly Berdimuhamedov.
