Relatives of the Great Patriotic War veteran Sadykov Akmurat from the Vekilbazar etrap donated the stored family relics to the Museum of Local History of Mary velayat, the Turkmenportal correspondent was told at the museum.
The veteran's son, Orazgylych, together with his wife, on behalf of all those close to him, presented the museum with memorable and dear family relics: awards, letters of thanks, photographs and personal belongings of the veteran.
The veteran went through the entire war.He participated in the liberation of Prague and the capture of Berlin.He was awarded the Orders of the Patriotic War I and II degrees, the Red Star, as well as various medals.
After the war, he taught the Turkmen language and literature in his native Vekilbazar etrap.The war left a fragment of a shell in his lungs as a memory of himself.
But, despite this, he worked all his life.He was awarded the honorary title “Excellence in Public Education”.
Unfortunately, in 1993 Sadykov Akmurat passed away. Relatives and friends, as well as many students and colleagues of the veteran remember him with great respect, with warmth and gratitude keep the good memory of the veteran.
The veteran's son told about military, labor exploits and the last months of his father's life.
“He was for us an example of honesty, responsiveness and kind attitude towards people,” Orazgylych recalled.
As the senior researcher of the museum, Seyidova Gulyalek, notes, the relics donated by the veteran's relatives are extremely significant, and it is a great honor to keep them among the museum's expositions.
Today the museum fund has more than 55 thousand exhibits. It carefully stores exhibits that tell about the ancient land of Mary, about the life and work of prominent people.
