Exhibitions dedicated to Memorial Day opened in Ashgabat

Exhibitions dedicated to the Memorial Day for the victims of the 1948 Ashgabat earthquake and the soldiers who died on the battlefields have opened in museums in the capital of Turkmenistan.

Thus, an exhibition entitled “Sacred Memory” was organized at the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan. The exhibition has two sections: one is dedicated to the Ashgabat earthquake, the second to the Gökdepe battle.

A special place in the exhibition is given to documentary photographs from the “Written Sources” repository.

An exhibition of paintings and sculptures by Turkmen artists has been launched at the State Museum of Fine Arts.

Among them are works by Toymammet Esenmammedov, Kulnazar Bekmuradov, Nikolay Chervyakov, Alexander Saurov, folk artists of Turkmenistan Ayhan Hajiyev, Yakub Annanurov and others, reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.

We previously reported that on October 6, Turkmenistan marked the Memorial Day for the victims of the 1948 Ashgabat earthquake and the soldiers who died on the battlefields. On this day, events dedicated to these tragic events were held throughout the country.
