Ex-President of Turkmenistan will not participate in Government meetings

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the ex-president of Turkmenistan, who now heads the Chamber of the Halk Maslahaty of the parliament, will not participate in Government meetings and various meetings due to the workload of public affairs.

Instead, his deputy Kasymguly Babayev will take part in the meetings.This was announced by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at today's meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to him, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov carries out a large-scale public activity, heads a charitable foundation, participates in the preparation and adoption of various laws, makes working trips to velayats and the city of Ashgabat.

“In this regard, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh instructed his deputy K. Babayev to participate in Government meetings and various meetings,” the head of state was quoted by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan as saying.
