European Football Championship starts in Germany

The 17th European Men's Football Championship starts on the night of Friday to Saturday with a match between the national teams of Germany and Scotland, which will take place at the Allianz Arena in Munich and will begin at 23:50 Ashgabat time.

An hour before the starting whistle, the traditional opening ceremony of the tournament will take place. The broadcast can be watched live on the Match TV channel. Start at 23:00 Ashgabat time.

For the third time, the European Championship will be held with the participation of 24 teams.In Group A, the teams of Germany, Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland will play at the tournament; Group B consisted of teams from Spain, Croatia, Italy and Albania; Group C included the teams of Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia and England.

Quartet D was formed by teams from Poland, the Netherlands, Austria and France; in Group E the national teams of Belgium, Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine will play; Group F included teams from Turkey, Georgia, Portugal and the Czech Republic.

The final part of Euro 2024 will be hosted by 10 stadiums in Berlin, Hamburg, Gelsenkirchen, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich, Frankfurt am Main and Stuttgart. The continental championship will last exactly a month until July 14.

The current winner of the European Championship is the Italian team, which beat the England national team in the Euro 2020 final at London's Wembley Stadium. The fate of that final was decided in a penalty shootout.
