During their working visit to Belgium, Turkmenistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov and the Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammedhan Chakyyev held separate meetings with European organizations and companies.
These meetings discussed the prospects of opening service centers for European companies in Turkmenistan, as reported by Turkmenistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
Rashid Meredov also met with leaders of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Walloon Export and Investment Agency, as well as vice presidents of Philips and Picanol.
Meanwhile, Mammedhan Chakyyev discussed cooperation matters with the management of the Port of Antwerp and representatives from Cargolux, Exagon Global BV, Royal IHC, and DEME.
During the meetings, main focus was given to expanding bilateral cooperation, equipment supplies for various sectors in Turkmenistan, exploring potential projects, digitalization, modern technology utilization, entrepreneurship development, and investment activities.
Furthermore, both sides expressed interest in continuing fruitful cooperation and readiness to discuss recommendations for improving the legal environment for business and investment.
On March 18, 2024, the Turkmen delegation and representatives from the business community of the European Union held a roundtable discussion on "Turkmenistan and the EU: Towards a New Economic Partnership."
The event was conducted in a hybrid format and brought together over 120 representatives from various countries to discuss cooperation opportunities in key sectors such as energy, investment, and trade.
From March 17th to 19th, 2024, a Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov is on a working visit to Belgium.
