Europe plans to lift the ban on the use of mobile communications on board aircraft

Soon, it will be possible not to turn off cell phones on the planes of European airlines, or rather, not put them in flight mode, writes the BBC news website.

5G wireless communications will appear on board European aircraft, which will permit you to use mobile communications and the Internet right in flight. On board such aircraft will be installed special equipment - pico-cell.

It will link the onboard system with the satellite, from which the signal will be broadcast to the ground. For this, it is planned to use radio frequencies reserved back in 2008.

At the same time, according to the developers of the communication system, this will not affect the signal quality in any way.

It will be possible to use cellular communications on board aircraft in Europe no earlier than the middle of next year.
