Euro 2024: Germany drew with Switzerland, Hungary beat Scotland

The German national team played a draw with the Swiss team in the match of the third round of the group stage of the European Football Championship. The meeting took place in Frankfurt am Main and ended with a score of 1:1.

Dan Ndoye scored a goal for the Swiss (28th minute). Niklas Füllkrug scored for the German team (90+2). It is worth noting that Germany’s Robert Andrich’s goal in the 17th minute was disallowed after a VAR check.

At the end of the group stage, Germany, having scored 7 points, took first place in Group A and secured access to the 1/8 finals. Switzerland finished second with 5 points. Their playoff opponents will be announced later.

In the parallel Group A match, Hungary beat Scotland 1-0, scoring in the 100th minute.This goal was the latest in the history of the European Championships, not counting extra time.

The Hungarians took third place with 3 points and still have a chance to qualify for the playoffs.Scotland took last place with 1 point and ended its performance in the tournament.

24 teams participate in the championship, divided into 6 groups. The top two teams from each group and the top four third-place teams advance to the playoffs. The final of the tournament will take place on July 14 in Berlin.
