Espresso proposed to be included in the UNESCO heritage list

Italy has applied to UNESCO to have the traditional espresso listed as a cultural heritage of the country.According to mir24.tv with reference to The Guardian, the drink, which appeared in Turin at the end of the XIX century, has become an organic part of Italian culture. “Espresso is a true ritual and an expression of our social relationship, that distinguishes us around the world,” said Gian Marco Centinaio, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Italy.

This is not Italy's first attempt to have espresso listed as a cultural heritage of the country.Now the application has been sent to the UNESCO National Committee and it is expected, that the application will be approved in the spring.
