The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is ready to actively cooperate with Turkmenistan in various directions. This was stated by the Deputy Secretary-General of the UN, Executive Secretary of
ESCAP Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana during a meeting with the Turkmen delegation in Bangkok.
The head of the Turkmen delegation, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy B. Yalakov, noting the fruitful interaction with ESCAP, expressed gratitude to the leadership and secretariat for supporting Turkmenistan’s initiatives to create a UN Multilateral Partnership Trust Fund and the adopted resolution of Turkmenistan on the Aral Sea during the 79th session of ESCAP.
The parties considered the possibilities of expanding cooperation with ESCAP in the near future, in particular cooperation with the UNECE within the framework of the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA), reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Let us remind that the delegation of Turkmenistan is participating in the 80th session of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), held on April 2226 in Bangkok.
