Emirates Airlines introduces electronic boarding passes

Emirates passengers departing from Dubai will receive a mobile boarding pass instead of a printed boarding pass from May 15, 2023, reports the airline's official website.

The Emirati airline wants to reduce paper waste with this innovation, as well as offer its customers a convenient and fast check-in process.

Upon check-in at the airport, an electronic boarding pass with a QR code will be sent to the passenger by mail or SMS. When you check in online, you can download your boarding pass from Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and you can also find it on the Emirates app.

Passengers with infants, unaccompanied minors, travelers requiring special assistance, those flying on other airlines, and anyone traveling to the United States will still be able to get a paper boarding pass. The boarding pass will also be printed out if the passenger does not have a mobile phone, access to mail, the Internet, or the battery is dead.
