Emergency Aid Center in Ashgabat Receives New Medical Equipment

The Emergency Aid Center in Ashgabat on Wednesday hosted the ceremony of handing over the last batch of medical equipment purchased under the project entitled “Enhancing the Healthcare System through the Provision of Medical Equipment in Turkmenistan”.

The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan Chary Agamyradov, Ambassador of Japan to Turkmenistan Yamamoto Hiroyuki, the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmytro Shlapachenko, Mr Cherkez Hannyiev and Project Manager of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Turkmenistan Vasily Tolkachev as the representative of the contractor project, the official Turkmen media reports.

According to the speech of Japanese Envoy, modern medical equipment meeting all international quality standards has been purchased using grant funds under this project.Medical equipment has already been installed at over 50 medical facilities throughout the country, including in Ashgabat, provincial centers and districts.

Within the framework of the project, the medical personnel were also trained on the new equipment’s effective use.

In turn, the Deputy Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, Chary Agamyradov, expressed high gratitude on behalf of the ministry, the Government and the Turkmen people to the Government of Japan for providing modern medical equipment.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Ambassador Yamamoto Hiroyuki spoke with medical personnel, during which doctors informed about the effectiveness of the equipment.
