"This year, a good Foundation has been laid for the development and exchange of experience in the field of information and communication technologies between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan," said Elmir Tofig oglu Velizade, Deputy Minister of transport, communications and high technologies of Azerbaijan, speaking at the XIII International conference "Türkmentel-2020".
The speaker recalled that the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan in March marked a new milestone in the modern history of relations between the two countries.
During the visit there was signed a package of bilateral documents, including a Memorandum on cooperation in the field of ITK between the Agency "Türkmenaragatnaşyk" of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of communications and high technologies of the
Azerbaijan Republic, as well as a Memorandum of understanding for the construction, possession and operation of fiber-optic communication lines in the Caspian sea along the route Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan telecommunication company "Türkmentelekom" and operators of the limited liability company "Azertelecom".
Elmir Tofig oglu Velizade expressed hope that "within the framework of this forum, we will be able to share experience in ICT between our countries."
