Eco-festival held in Dashoguz

The Ecology of Culture environmental festival was held on November 10 in the Dashoguz Regional Library.

The festival was dedicated to environmental awareness and promotion of youth initiatives in the field of sustainable development.

The event included an exhibition of environmentally friendly products, a presentation of innovative ideas and traditional crafts, including national costumes and student research projects, according to a UNDP press release.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Dashoguz city administration and UNDP in Turkmenistan in partnership with the American Corner in Dashoguz, UNESCO, CAREC and local NGOs Ecodurmush and Yashyl Shokhle.

The festival was attended by honorary guests: Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Chinar Rustemova and the UNDP delegation led by UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan Narine Saakyan.

“It was incredibly inspiring to witness the creativity and dedication of youth and local artisans at the festival,” said Narine Sahakyan. “The vibrant display of crafts, eco-friendly products and traditional attire, along with the participants’ enthusiasm for sustainable development, demonstrates a deep commitment to preserving Turkmenistan’s ecological and cultural heritage.

This event is in line with UNDP’s efforts to promote the creative economy in Turkmenistan, supporting innovation and sustainable practices, as well as promoting the development of local communities and youth initiatives.”
