EBRD’s Participation in Projects in Turkmenistan Discussed in Ashgabat

Representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Representative Office in Ashgabat Fatih Turkmenoglu in a Tuesday meeting in Ashgabat discussed the prospects for further development of long-term cooperation and participation of the EBRD in projects that are implemented in the country.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Muhammetgeldi Serdarov, as well as representatives of the relevant departments of the ministry, the Ministry said in its press release.

The meeting participants exchanged views on the infrastructure projects proposed by the Ministry and matters related to investments in the country.

The active portfolio of the EBRD for the period by mid-November last year for Turkmenistan amounted to 59 million euros and 34 projects. Since the beginning of the EBRD's operations in the country, the bank has signed 80 projects with a total aggregate volume of banking investments of €292 million.
