Early Voting For Presidential Elections Continues in Turkmenistan

The Central Commission for Elections and Referendums (Central Election Commission) of Turkmenistan on Tuesday informed about the ongoing early voting for presidential elections in Turkmenistan.

According to the Central Election Commission of Turkmenistan, as of March 6, 2.54% of voters in the country voted early, including 6.76% - in Ahal province, 3.01% - in Balkan province, 1.90% - in Dashoguz province, 2.39% - in Lebap province, 0.92% - in Mary province and 0.80% in capital Ashgabat.

Early voting began on March 2 and will end at 18:00 on March 11.

The Central Election Commission additionally informed that Turkmen citizens abroad can vote at 41 polling stations established at the diplomatic missions and consulates of Turkmenistan in other countries.

Abroad, 28.6% of voters voted early. On the election day, March 12, voting will take place from 07.00 to 19.00 local time.

The Central Election Commission of Turkmenistan has registered nine candidates for the highest state post of Turkmenistan.
