World culture and its role in people’s lives have become a fundamental plot of the documentary “Planet of Culture”, which will be premiered in January-February this year, “International Affairs” magazine reports.
The project was offered by Russian cultural workers to their colleagues from abroad and is aimed to continue the cultural dialogue between countries during the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 20 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Cambodia, India, China and others, have already joined the international cultural marathon.
The documentary film will feature presentation videos about works of art, unique traditions and humanistic values of the peoples of the world. The well-known Russian director Andrei Konchalovsky joined the work on the documentary.
Famous musicians Denis Matsuev, Yuri Bashmet, Vladimir Spivakov, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova, and Special Representative of the Russian President for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy are among the authors of the appeal.
According to him, the upcoming film will tell about the richness and diversity of culture. It will be about the culture that needs to be protected, as it joined people together, helped to survive during the pandemic, while itself suffered huge economic and creative losses.
It is planned that the film will be the part of address of UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay.
Let us recall that in October 2020, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, directors of the CIS countries discussed issues related to the operation of theaters in the current realities. The videoconference became the platform for colleagues from different countries to exchange their views and opinions for further productive cooperation.
