Devastating flooding hits the Philippines

Prolonged torrential rains in the Philippines caused a large-scale flood that caused loss of life, reports “MIR 24” with reference to TASS. 25 people died, 26 more - in the lists of missing persons.

About three hundred buildings were destroyed, roads and bridges were damaged. The flood also caused problems in the operation of seaports throughout the country.

Schools have been suspended, and the government has ordered a state of emergency in two cities.

Problems with water and electricity supply continue, although part of the power lines and water communications have been restored. The government allocated more than 6 million pesos (more than 100 thousand dollars) to assist the victims.
