Delegates of Turkmenistan participated in the WCO training of trainers seminar

Customs officials of Turkmenistan took part in a regional seminar to improve knowledge and facilitate the implementation of the concept of training trainers for customs and other competent authorities, which was held from July 30 to August 1 in the city of Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan. This was reported on the website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The event was organized as part of the Passenger and Cargo Border Profiling Team initiative implemented through the UNODC-WCO Global Container Control Programme.

Representatives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took part in the seminar. Turkmenistan was represented by the director of the Customs Training Center, an employee of the Ashgabat International Airport, as well as an employee of the customs post “Ferry gechelgesi” of the Balkan velayat customs.

The next stage, during August-December, will be the selection of candidates based on questionnaires. After this, accreditation tests will be carried out in the first quarter of 2025. Candidates who successfully pass the tests will receive the status of WCO-accredited instructors, the source notes.
