Delegates of the Turkmen university took part in the Asian Universities Summit

From April 29 to May 2, teachers of the Oguz Han University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan took part in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asian Universities Summit, held in Kuala Lumpur with the support of the Malaysian Sunway University.

According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the forum was attended by hundreds of delegates from 17 countries - finalists of the sixth THE Awards Asia 2024.

During the first day of the summit, the winning universities of the prestigious award were announced, and their award ceremony took place.

Let us recall that the Turkmen University of Engineering and Technology named after Oguz Han entered the top eight of THE Awards Asia-2024 in the Student Recruitment Campaign of the Year.

The shortlist of finalists was published in January on the website of the British organization THE.The list includes 80 universities (8 in each of 10 nominations).This year, more than 600 universities from 22 countries applied for the award.

During the Summit, the Turkmen delegation took an active part in presentations, model sessions, round tables, discussions on the topics: “Trends and driving forces of transnational education in Asia”, “Employment for a sustainable future”, “Changing the face of skills in the digital age”, “Innovative Approaches to Curriculum Design and Capability Development.” The organizers of the summit and representatives of other Asian universities expressed great interest in close cooperation with the Oguz Han University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan.

Also, teachers from the Oguz Han University visited the Tenaga National University (UNITEN). During the meeting, prospects and plans for cooperation between the two universities, including research activities, were discussed.

Turkmen teachers invited Malaysian colleagues to participate in the conference “Main directions of the green economy: eco-, nano-, bio-, information technologies”, which will be held in Ashgabat in a hybrid format on June 8, the source notes.
