Daughter of detained activist Galina Kucherenko allowed to visit her mother at the detention facility

In the morning on 12 December, Galina Kucherenko’s daughter Valeriya was allowed to visit her mother in the detention facility of the Interior Ministry (see the photo) located in the village of Arzuv near Ashgabat where Galina is being kept under arrest.

The staff of the detention facility permitted to hand over warm things to Galina which she needed.

According to the daughter, Galina first asked about the animals left in their apartment. Valeriya also said that police officers treated her kindly during her visit to the detention facility.

Let us recall that on 7 December a few individuals, one of whom was wearing a police uniform, cut the door hinges and broke into the apartment of the animals right activist and detained Galina and her daughter Valeria.

Later Valeria was released and received a 50 manat fine for resisting police. Galina was given a 15 day arrest.

In her apartment G. Kucherenko kept several dogs and cats she had rescued from the brutal killing. The animals were removed from the apartment when the owners were taken to the police department.
