Dashoguz Velayat and Khorezm region enhance cooperation

In the framework of the Agreement between the Hyakimlik of Dashoguz Velayat, Turkmenistan and the administration of the Khorezm region of the Republic of Uzbekistan on cooperation in the spheres of trade and economy, cultural and humanitarian spheres, signed in Ashgabat in March, 2017, the delegation of the Khorezm region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Governor of the region administration Farhod Ermanov, visited Dashoguz.

The delegation included the heads of the administration of the region and various institutions, as well as businessmen and the workers of culture and arts.

The visit programme started with a meeting of the official delegations of the Dashoguz and Khorezm regions held in the Dashoguz Velayat Hyakimlik. A business forum and an exhibition that showcased the potential of the two regions in various spheres were arranged in the business centre of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.

The specialized exposition introduced a wide spectrum of industrial and food products as well as the works of the decorative and applied arts and souvenirs.

Among the participants of the exhibition from the Uzbek side were the joint Uzbek-Chinese company UzXCMG LLC from Urgench that manufacturers caterpillars and wheeled excavators, motor graders, front loaders and other heavy equipment, “Mini Accumulator” LLC that produces battery monoblocks and polypropylene pipes, the private enterprise “Akman” from the Shavat district known for paint and coatings, the private enterprise “Tillo doormor” that works on the production of dairy products and others.

The Dashoguz velayat was represented by various state enterprises and private companies working in the agro-industrial sector, producing building materials, food products, and other goods that are in demand on the consumer market. Among them are the “Hilal”, “Peynyrchi”, “Dovour” enterprises, “Ovadan ulus” Economic Society among others.

The interregional business forum started with the video-presentations on the trends and potential for development of the Dashoguz velayat and the Khorezm region.According to the forum participants, there are ample opportunities for enhancing efficient cooperation between the regions.

The Dashoguz velayat and Khorezm region have the developed agrarian sector, where the main place is occupied by cotton growing, grain growing and livestock industries.The high-tech industrial enterprises in the region efficiently work on processing local raw materials.

There are wide opportunities in the sphere of humanitarian cooperation, since the two regions are bounded with the historical and spiritual commonality as well as cultural traditions.

Those speaking during the forum noted that due to the efforts taken by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Turkmen-Uzbek relations have reached a qualitatively new level.

The trade turnover between the countries has considerably grown, and a joint private enterprise was opened in the Khorezm region.The representatives of the two regions expressed belief that the visit of the delegation of the neighbouring region of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan would offer a powerful incentive to enhance the dialogue and multifaceted cooperation between the regions.

At the conclusion of the forum, the masters of arts of the two countries arranged a concert at the stage of N. Andalip Dshoguz Musical and Drama Theatre.
