Chairman of the South Korean company Daewoo E&C Jeong Won-Joo announced a significant expansion of the company's activities in Turkmenistan during the International Conference CIET 2024, held in Ashgabat.
A landmark achievement in the Turkmen-Korean cooperation was the project Smart City Arkadag, which in September this year won three prestigious awards at the World Exhibition Smart City Expo in South Korea. This international recognition significantly increased the status of Turkmenistan on the world stage in the field of innovative urban development.
Turkmenistan attracts the attention of the whole world in such areas as construction, chemistry and energy, Mr. Jeong Won-Joo emphasized, noting the high potential of the country for further investment.
An important stage in the development of cooperation was the company's receipt of a contract for the construction of a mineral fertilizer plant in Turkmenabat. This was preceded by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the State Concern Turkmenhimiya during the visit of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Korea in November 2022.
To strengthen its presence in the Turkmen market, Daewoo E&C, which has more than 50 years of experience in various fields of construction, opened a branch in Ashgabat last October.
We will continue to offer ideas and develop cooperation that will contribute to the development of Turkmenistan in the future, the company's chairman said, confirming Daewoo E&C's long-term plans in the region.
Recall that the South Korean construction company Daewoo Engineering & Construction won a tender for the construction of a mineral fertilizer plant in Turkmenabat.
