The works of Mamed Yarmamedov are attracted by an unusual and colorific handwriting, in which symbolism and realism harmoniously coexist, expressing at the same time a soft unobtrusive palette.
"I have not discovered a new in painting," says Mamed, "I simply avoid stereotypes."
The fighting rooster, the lead character in the film "Early Morning" climbed to the biggest in the yard stone and announcing with a loud crowing about the oncoming of a new day.
The old chicken coop and the almost ruined wall of the apartment house are filled with the energy of a new day with morning coming.Despite the conciseness of the plot, the canvas has a special magnetism.
What is his magic? Most likely, in the palette. The artist calls the palette a composition of color.Gray-white tones with small impregnations of red color.
It would seem that the color scheme should cause discouragement. But here it is palpable conveys the freshness of the early morning, causing the desire to live the day come full.
The picture "Bunches", where against the background of a light porous wall are depicted three vines, with difficulty holding red and blue bunches. The leaves, dried up by the sun, turned into freakish red and blue bales, resembling lush, giant bunches...
Mamed was born in the family of the famous sculptor Klychmurad Yarmamedov, but as a child, he did not show any interest in the fine arts. When he was in the third grade, their school hosted the selection of boys in a choreographic studio.
All applicants were asked to stand in position No. 3.Only a few of them were able to do this.Among those who were offered to do the ballet was Mamed.
Learning about this, the father, who saw in him only a painter, took him to the Children's Art School named after Byashim Nurali.Mamed remembers that many children were engaged with great zeal and he did without much desire.
From the first time, Mamed did not pass through the contest at the Turkmen State Art School and worked as a loader at the glass combine for a year.
"My father specially arranged me for hard physical work, so that, in contrast I reached for creativity," he says. - And, probably, not in vain, because I acted on the second attempt.
He continued his artistic education at the National Institute of Arts and Design named Behzod in Tashkent.Only there, towards the end of the first year I came to the realization that painting is my calling.
I liked to work on course work, which was praised by teachers.By the way, there are several student works of Mamed at the exhibition. For example, "Saleswoman of carpets," where one woman is sitting motionless, wrapped in scarfs and glances sideways at another, vividly advertising product.
In the paintings of Mamed Yarmamedov there is always a light kind humor. For example, his remarkable work "Photography for memory," which depicts three posing in front of a photo-lens woman. It seemed nothing special, but the artist accentuated our view of their inner state. With external static character poses, their faces express a rich palette of emotions.
The same can be applied to the work "Na namaz", in which two jashulis march to the evening prayer along the long duel and stacked in a variety of colored stones. It seems that there is nothing extraordinary about the plot. The old people painted so touching by the artist that wants to do something good for them.
The canvas "Conversation" depicts two old men sitting near the house. Moreover, both in appearance and in clothes they contrast. Probably, the artist wants to emphasize the polemical nature of their communication.
Mamed Yarmamedov's works are, to some extent, characterized by surrealism, manifested in the breaking of logical connections. For example, the painting "Red Shadows", which depicts a long fence with a wooden door, painted in red.
Through the half-open door, you can see the road, the gardens, and the houses, in other words - behind the fence the whole world. The author gives to the picture a completely different name - "Red Shadows".
Moreover, the big shadow in the picture that falls from the fence is red.Nevertheless, there are no red shadows! However, the artist breaks the habitual stereotypes of perception.
Moreover, in the memory the poet's lines pop up: "Of course, the red wolves are more beautiful than the wolves are gray."
The painting "Poplar" with brightly colored crowns in the style of cubism was written by Mamedd Yarmamedov in Paris. To the question: "Did the city of artists have an influence on the creation of" Poplars ", Mamed answered negatively.
"I've been in love with Nokhur ever since I saw him once, when I came to practice with the students of the Academy of Arts," he says. - Such a unique nature!
The architecture and people! It is Klondike for painters! Now I am hatching the idea of a new canvas - the Lunar Mountains in Caracal.Almost every artist, once seeing them, embodied this miracle on canvas.
I want to write my Moon Mountains, but I do not know yet how they will look...
