Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that prevention measures against the spread of COVID-19 continue to be undertaken in Turkmenistan.
Cafes, restaurants and centers for festivities are still closed in Ashgabat.
The authorities make sure that tents for family celebrations are installed in front of residential buildings.Permits for their installations are issued only to families who organize a funeral of a close family member or a commemoration ceremony.
A district police officer checks personal data of the family and the diseased.If no discrepancies are identified, a family is granted permission to install a tent.
Not only the police but also officials from the local authorities are responsible for maintaining order and issuing a permit for the installation of a tent. However, residents always have a chance to make arrangements with officials.
If one has connections in the khyakimlik’s offce, a permit can be obtained for a fee of 1000 manats. In residential districts Parakhat-4,5,6, 7 and other districts weddings are held almost every weekend.
Employees of the Dashoguz public health authority are currently disinfecting residential neighbourhoods by sprinkling hallways with a disinfecting solution. The areas between multi-storey apartment blocks and pavements are disinfected from special tanks attached to tractors.
The situation in the province is not improving. According to correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan”, the situation in Akdepe and Kunyaurgench is the most complicated.
Effective 20 September, 2021 the punishment for driving a vehicle without a mask on was tightened in Mary velayat. If a driver or passenger do not put on a mask or their nose is not covered, a road traffic inspector imposes a fine of 1150 manats on a driver.
A driver has his driving license confiscated and has a week to pay the fine. If the fine is not paid within this time, a car will be towed to a car impound and the driving license will be revoked for a period of 6 to 12 months.
A fine will be imposed even if a driver or passengers have a vaccination certificate or a negative COVID-19 test.
The car impound in Bairamali is full of vehicles owned by violators of the mask mandate.Cars of new violators are towed to a fee-based car impound.
