Today, in accordance with the instruction of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the farmers of the Dashoguz velayat began to pick cotton in Turkmenistan, where, taking into account the local soil and climatic conditions, the “white harvest” starts later than in other regions of the country.
According to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, the cotton wedge in the northern region of the country occupies 155 thousand hectares, from which it is planned to collect 275 thousand tons of "white gold". Farmers of the velayat grow medium-fiber varieties.
The uninterrupted rhythm of field work will be provided by modern agricultural machinery. During the harvest season, hundreds of high-performance combines of the John Deere brand and other equipment will be involved, the fleet of which has been replenished with new machines in recent years.
About two thousand trucks and tractors with trailers will be involved in the transportation of cotton. Reception points and ginning plants of the “Dashoguzpagta” production association are fully prepared for round-the-clock work.
In the laboratories equipped with modern equipment, specialists of the Main State Service "Turkmenstandartlary" check the quality of the raw material handed over.
In celebration of the beginning of the cotton harvest was attended by the heads of the velayat and etrap khyakimliks, farmers' associations, as well as representatives of public organizations, scientists, farmers, experienced agronomists, drivers and tenants-cotton growers.
The elders raised a prayer to the Almighty for the prosperity of the Motherland, the well-being of the leader of the nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the entire Turkmen people, blessing the beginning of the cotton harvesting campaign with the words "Good harvest!"
Then cars decorated with flags and tractors with trailers, loaded to the brim with "white gold", went to the place of the ceremonial reception of the new harvest.
It should be reminded that the first in Turkmenistan to pick cotton last week were the farmers of the Akhal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary velayats. In the whole country it is planned to collect 1 million 250 thousand tons of "white gold".
