Copies of “The Lion King” characters found in a Namibian nature reserve

In one of the corners of the African savannah, in a Namibian reserve, fate brought together two unusual friends: the warthog Betsy and the meerkat Jerry. Their strong friendship, reminiscent of the relationship between Timon and

Pumbaa from the famous cartoon, won the hearts of people around the world and became a real sensation on the Internet, pravilamag.ru reports.

Travel blogger Ruben Lambrechts regularly shares touching moments from the life of this unusual couple on social media. Their story even attracted the attention of the German publication Bild, which shared a video of these amazing friends.

Like their cartoon prototypes Timon and Pumbaa, Jerry and Betsy spend a lot of time together, playing and having fun. The meerkat especially likes to climb on the back of his massive friend. Despite the difference in size, they get along well with each other and with the other inhabitants of the reserve.

Ruben notes that both animals are orphans under the care of the reserve. Although they will not be able to return to the wild, they have been given the most natural habitat possible. At the same time, they are quite trusting of people, although they are not pets.

Interestingly, a similar friendship exists in a Botswana reserve, where instead of a meerkat, the warthog is accompanied by a mongoose, which is also very reminiscent of the famous duo from the cartoon.
