Consul of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan) Nury Golliev presented the Governor of the Astrakhan region Igor Babushkin with a copy of the Consular exequatur, reported on the official website of the Turkmen consulate.
Babushkin wished Golliev success in his new diplomatic position for the benefit of the development of Turkmen-Russian relations.
During the meeting, the parties noted the high level of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region within the framework of the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.
The Consul noted that Turkmenistan pays special attention to further strengthening bilateral relations with the Astrakhan region and, based on the potential opening up for the Caspian region, in terms of optimizing transport flows in the Eurasian space, it was proposed to consider intensifying the work of the “North-South” transport corridor: from Russia through the international seaport of Turkmenbashi, which provides the shortest route to the Persian Gulf, to the ports of Iran and from there to India.
An agreement was reached between the parties to continue cooperation in various areas, including the designated points.
The consular district includes the Republic of Kalmykia, Krasnodar Territory, Stavropol Territory, Astrakhan Region, Volgograd Region and Rostov Region.
Let us note that by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan Golliev Nury Gutlyevich was appointed to the post of Consul of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan) in August 2022.
