Construction work at the Afghan site of the TAPI gas pipeline (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) will begin next year in Herat, the Minister of Mines and Oil Industry said IRA Minister of Mines and Petroleum Garun Chakhansuri at a press conference.
He stressed that the Ministry has created an effective mechanism for collaboration between government agencies participating in the project and international organizations TAPI partners.
The TAPI gas pipeline is a global regional project, the cost of which is estimated at approximately 7-8 billion dollars. The gas pipeline will export fuel from the Galkynysh gas field in Turkmenistan.
Chakhansuri added that the Afghan authorities are also working on a project to build a gas pipeline in the north of the country. According to him, the length of the Sheberghan-Mazar-i-Sharif gas pipeline will be 94.5 km, where the construction work will begin within the next three months.
