Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages held celebrations in honor of the birthday of the Chinese philosopher Confucius. On this day, China celebrates Teacher's Day every year, and solemn ceremonies are held to honor all workers in the field of education.
As reported on the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper, the program of the thematic event of the university included creative performances by students of the “Chinese language and literature” specialization, and also targeted educational presentations prepared by teachers.
The celebration was organized by an initiative group of teachers from the Far Eastern Languages Department led by Kabegul Meredova, which included Fatima Matanova, Agagul Amirkulova and Aylar Baymuradova.
A special note of color in the festive dedication to Confucius was made by a fifth-year student from China, Haodong Ma, who is studying here with a degree in “Russian language and literature”. He made an informative presentation in Russian and Chinese on the history and traditions of celebrating Teacher's Day in China.
Further, the students organized quizzes, which were based on the well-known aphorisms of Confucius, and also knowledge from the field of regional studies.
The first-year students performed in Chinese songs from the repertoire of popular Chinese artists, poems by Magtymguly and the romantic poet Xu Zhimo.
The language university of Turkmenistan has been training specialists in the field of teaching Chinese since 1994.
