For the upcoming Presidential elections to be held in Turkmenistan on March 12, the Consulate General of the country in Kazan will organize a polling station for its citizens. The official website of the State Public Institution of the Samara Region (GKU SO) "House of Friendship of Peoples" reports it.
The polling station was established at the Consulate General of Turkmenistan, located at 6 Sibirsky Lane, Kazan city.
Citizens of Turkmenistan residing in the Republic of Tatarstan, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Mari El, the Republic of Mordovia, the Udmurt Republic, the Chuvash Republic, Perm Krai, Kirov, Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg, Penza, Samara, Saratov and Ulyanovsk Regions can vote on March 12, 2022 from 7:00 to 19:00 (Moscow time).
When voters come to the polling station, they must present an identity document (internal and foreign passports). Each of them votes personally. Voting for other persons is not allowed.
Voters who are unable to vote on election day can do it ahead of time at the above-mentioned polling station, starting from March 2, 2022.Citizens wishing to vote early must send a letter with the subject "Elections" to the e-mail of the Consulate General, indicating in its contents the voter's data, in particular, full name, date of birth, address of residence in Russia, the planned date of arrival at the polling station, and attach a copy of the identity document (passport).
To recap, the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Kazan was opened in 2020. The Consulate became the third diplomatic mission opened in Russia. In 2013, Turkmenistan opened a Consulate in Astrakhan. The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Russia operates in Moscow.
It should be noted that citizens of Turkmenistan will be able to participate in the elections of their President in 30 countries of the world.
