Circular energy system and the Centre for power equipment maintenance to be set up in Turkmenistan

Improving reliability of Turkmenistan’s energy system was one of the topics on the agenda of the Cabinet session held in Turkmenistan on 9 February.

Deputy Prime Minister Dadebai Amangeldiev reported that 13 power stations are operational in Turkmenistan.With a view of fulfilling President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov’s instructions to ensure regular power supply to consumers a circular energy system and the Centre for power equipment maintenance is envisaged to be established, according to the state information agency TDH.

It should be mentioned that a week ago, on 2 February, the President issued a severe reprimand with the final warning to Amangeldiev for irregular power supply.

On 9 February the President dismissed Minister of Energy Batyr Ashirov for grave shortcomings while fulfilling job responsibilities.
