Chief of Staff of Iranian President meets with Turkmenistan’s President

Chief of Staff of Iranian president, Mahmoud Vaezi, who arrived in Ashgabat on 12 September, met and held talks with Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov.

Vaezi called for expansion of economic and trade ties, for instance, in transport and transit and stressed the need for closer cooperation between the two countries to maintain peace and stability in the region and fight against terrorism.

The President of Turkmenistan, in his turn, attached great importance to Tehran and Ashgabat’s economic cooperation in the Caspian Sea.
