Chairman of EDB Expects Turkmenistan to Join the Bank

Chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Nikolai Podguzov expects that Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan will eventually join the bank, TASS news agency reported on Monday, citing Nikolai Podguzov's speech at the conference of investors - members of the Association of Development Institutes of Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP), which is held on May 15-17 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

"I would very much like to see Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan among the bank's participants. I hope that with time, these countries will also join the bank," the EDB Chairman said.

According to the press service of EDB, the International Conference of Investors - participants of the Association of Development Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) brings together delegates from 40 countries: South-East Asia, European Union, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East, as well as from New Zealand, Canada, Turkey, Japan, China, India, Saudi Arabia, Great Britain, USA, as well as representatives of international organizations, including the UN structures.

A special session of the conference will present the investment potential and projects of Central Asian countries as the fastest-growing region of the world.
