A festive evening dedicated to one of the main Muslim holidays - Gurban bayram - was held at the Cultural Center of the Iranian Embassy in Turkmenistan.
Opening the event, Advisor to the Iranian Embassy on cultural issues Navid Rassuli noted the deep historical, cultural and spiritual ties between the Iranian and Turkmen peoples. He emphasized that the celebration of Gurban bayram is one of the common traditions that unites the two friendly countries, the Turkmenportal correspondent reports.
Cultural events were held within the framework of the evening. Students of the Center performed works by the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly in Turkmen and Persian. The most distinguished participants were awarded memorable gifts.
At the end of the cultural program, guests were treated to sweet holiday treats.
Rassouli congratulated the Turkmen people, the President of the country Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the holiday, wishing them peace, prosperity and success in all their endeavors.
Gurban bayram marks the end of the Hajj, the annual Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca. This is one of the main holidays of the Islamic world, symbolizing spiritual renewal and purification.
