The Turkmen-Iranian business forum, dedicated to the various areas of trade and economic cooperation was held within the framework of the XIV specialized exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran that showcased the export products and advanced developments of the friendly country in the Turkmen capital.
The representative delegation of businessmen headed by Mohammad Shariatmadari, the IRI Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the annual exposition of the IRI production complex achievements.
The significance of the branch exhibition and joint business forum that are traditionally held in Ashgabat as an effective platform for discussing important issues of cooperation was emphasized during the meeting of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with Mohammad Shariatmadari.
The sides underlined the interest of the two countries in promoting the further enhancement of business relations, encouraging the investment activity, increasing the volumes of mutual trade turnover.
The business forum held in the conference hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan demonstrated the mutual interest in expanding fruitful cooperation in its key areas, and the participation in joint projects of the national and regional scale.
The forum brought together the heads of 65 Iranian companies and enterprises, representing the industrial centers of Khorasan, Mazandaran, Gulistan, the city of Birjand, as well as the specialized economic zone of Serakhs, etc. The specialists of the sectoral ministries, departments and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs represented Turkmenistan at the forum.
A video clip, telling about the implementation of ambitious reformatory programmes affecting all spheres of life of the Turkmen state and society was demonstrated during the forum. The presentation on the economy of the Islamic Republic of Iran was arranged during the meeting.
The meeting participants noted that the current forum would become yet another practical step in boosting the trade and economic cooperation, identifying new directions and mechanisms for business partnership in the long term. This is facilitated by the favorable investment climate created in both countries, the dynamically developing domestic market, the widespread introduction of advanced technologies and innovations.
Transport and communications, electric power engineering, construction, chemical industry, agriculture, food production were specified among the priority areas of cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the issues of cooperation in the agro-industrial complex, in particular, the construction of new livestock and poultry complexes, greenhouse production, the introduction of advanced developments in the field of biotechnology.
As noted, the joint work of businessmen and companies of our countries in industrial branches based on high technologies is of great importance. Mastering the best international experience, domestic entrepreneurs have developed a great potential in the production and sale of a wide range of products and services in foreign markets.
The bilateral meetings between the representatives of various departments and business circles of the two countries, during which the possibilities of implementing joint projects were discussed, were held within the framework of the business forum.
