Fuel and Energy Complex
The implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project and the TAP high-voltage power transmission line was discussed by the delegation of Turkmenistan, which visited the Herat province of Afghanistan on a working visit. The Turkmen side held meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, the Minister of Mining and the Minister of Industry and Trade.
More than 200 thousand tons of gasoline, 107 thousand tons of diesel fuel and 20 thousand tons of road bitumen have been produced since the beginning of 2023 at the Seydi oil refinery. In total, more than 420 thousand tons of hydrocarbons were processed.

The postal communication company “Turkmenpost” announced a reduction in tariffs for cargo transportation services within the country. One of the largest Russian transport and logistics companies FESCO and Uzbek Railways have decided to cooperate on new transit routes through Turkmenistan to Türkiye, African and Mediterranean countries. In this case, FESCO intermodal services will be used.
Industry
For January-November 2023, the Chemical Plant named after S.A. Niyazov in Turkmenabat produced products worth 94 million 147 thousand manats. Among the products produced: phosphate mineral fertilizers 246 535 tons, sulfuric acid 89 560 tons and bleach - 197 tons.
The Dashoguz cotton spinning factory of the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan is consistently increasing the supply of products to European and Asian countries through the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange. Every year the enterprise is capable of producing 14,5 thousand tons of products, which are exported to Italy, Türkiye and India.
Construction
Within the framework of the construction of a bridge across the Garabogaz Bay in the Balkan velayat of Turkmenistan, 6 reinforced concrete supports out of 8, as well as 3 metal and 4 reinforced concrete spans have already been erected.
According to the plan, construction work is scheduled to be completed in June 2024.The length of the bridge will be more than 200 meters, and the total length, together with the supply roads, will be 2 kilometers.
The Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan announced a tender for the major renovation of its buildings - the main building, the Central Scientific Library and the “Ylym” Publishing House.
Trade
UNDP expert Maxim Medvedkov visited Turkmenistan to discuss with the heads of ministries and departments issues related to preparations for the country’s accession to the WTO. During the meetings, issues of the relationship between national and international legislation, its harmonization based on WTO agreements, as well as bringing procedures and standards in line with international requirements were discussed.
The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) held a four-day seminar in Ashgabat on effective procurement for representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, line ministries and departments, local contractors and consultants.
Agriculture
Farmers of the Balkan velayat of Turkmenistan completed the agricultural year, exceeding the plan for the delivery of raw cotton. They handed over to the state more than 16 thousand tons of “white gold” - significantly more than planned. The cotton growers of the Bereket and Gyzylarbat etraps especially distinguished themselves.
Farmers of large farms in the Dashoguz velayat of Turkmenistan harvested a rich rice harvest this year, exceeding the annual target. From a total area of 8,1 thousand hectares, over 35 thousand tons of “pearl grain” were obtained - much more than the annual target.
