Young Turkmen specialists take part in an online training organized by the International Bureau of Exhibitions as part of a program to build capacity for cooperation with Turkmenistan.Secretary General of the International Bureau of Exhibitions Dimitri Kerkentzes, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Dovletgeldi Rejepov, as well as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to France Shohrat Jumayev spoke at the training session opening on Monday, November 16.
During the three-day training, experts from the International Bureau of Exhibitions (BIE) will introduce Turkmen specialists to the organization’s activity, and share experience in exhibition and fair activities.
In particular, the communications and technical aspects of participation in exhibitions held under the BIE auspices will be considered.The training is attended by representatives of ministries, government agencies and business communities, as well as students from two Ashgabat institutions of higher education the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International University for the Humanities and Development.
The BIE is an intergovernmental organization responsible for the coordination of all international exhibitions that last more than three weeks and are non-commercial in nature.The organization determines the choice of countries for future exhibitions, provides candidate and host countries with its experience in the fields of such events, national branding and public diplomacy.
Established in 1928 with the headquarters in Paris, the organization has grown to 169 member states.Since the 1993 Specialized Exhibition in Daejeon, South Korea, Turkmenistan has participated in various world and specialized exhibitions.
In 2012, the country became a member of the BIE.In 2015, the parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
