According to Yonhap news agency, popular singer Jin, known as a member of the group BTS, will be one of the torchbearers at the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
It is expected that the artist will go to France in the near future, although the exact details of his participation in the ceremony have not yet been disclosed, daily.afisha.ru reports.
The event will be part of Jin's return to public life after completing his mandatory military service in June this year. He became the first BTS member to return from the military.
The Olympic torch relay began in Greece, from where the torch was carried to France in June. The torch traveled a distance of about 12 thousand kilometers, visiting more than 400 major cities.
About 11 thousand torchbearers will take part in the relay, among whom will be representatives of various professions and spheres of life.In addition to Gene, it features famous personalities such as football player Didier Drogba and basketball player Tony Parker, as well as people with unique stories - survivors of Nazi concentration camps, victims of the terrorist attack in Nice, astronauts and orderlies.
The Olympic Games in Paris will be held from July 27 to August 11. About 15 thousand athletes from 206 countries are expected to participate, who will compete in 32 sports.
