The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Saudi Arabia organized a briefing dedicated to the first Caspian Sea Economic Forum to be held in the Avaza National tourism zone on August 12.
The briefing brought together the representatives of the diplomatic missions of foreign states and international organizations, accredited in Riyadh, the Centre for Strategic and International Studies, King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, mass media as well as the members of the Saudi Branch of the Humanitarian Association of World Turkmens and Turkmen diaspora.
According to those speaking during the briefing, the upcoming forum, initiated by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, aims at elaborating the common approaches to the development of trade and economic relations between the countries of the Caspian region, creating new transport and transit corridors of international importance and establishing an effective model of economic cooperation in Eurasia.
The attention of the briefing participants was focused on the potential of the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port in the context of optimizing traffic flows in the Eurasian space and developing a modern sea transportation system to create favorable conditions for the access to the Black Sea region, Europe, the Middle East, South Asia and the Asia-Pacific region.
According to the meeting participants, the advantageous geographical location of the Caspian countries and common interests determine favourable prerequisite for creating new multimodal transit-transport corridors, using the potential of the Caspian and Black Sea regions, and open up wide opportunities for interregional integration.
The video presentation about the first Caspian Economic Forum was demonstrated during the meeting.The information materials, illustrating the economic potential of the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port and the recreational and tourism advantages of the Avaza National tourism zone were presented to the meeting participants.
Upon completion of the briefing, Sadaqah was arranged on behalf of the Turkmen diplomatic mission.
