Biden Hopes For Further Expansion of US-Turkmenistan Partnership

The US President Joseph Biden, in his congratulatory letter sent to Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of Turkmenistan's Independence Day, expressed hope for the further enhancement and expansion of partnership with Turkmenistan. The official Turkmen media disseminated the message on Wednesday.

In his message, Biden said, "We are working together to address the climate crisis and reduce methane emissions. Together with Central Asian leaders, we held the first summit of our Presidents, strengthening intergovernmental and economic ties."

Joe Biden wished President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and all Turkmen people a joyful and peaceful celebration of the national holiday, Independence Day.

The US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken also congratulated Turkmenistan on the 32nd anniversary of the country's independence in a US State Department press release on Tuesday.

“The United States maintains an enduring commitment to Turkmenistan’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, rooted in your country’s principle of positive neutrality.As we reflect on our bilateral achievements during the past year, we look to our 32nd year of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to further develop our economic ties and tackle the climate crisis," Blinken said in his congratulatory message.

On the occasion of Turkmenistan’s Independence Day, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also received congratulatory messages from the Presidents of Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Iran, Germany, Turkey, India, Romania, Belarus, Azerbaijan, and Palestine, the Kings of the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Spain, and the Netherlands, and the Emperor of Japan.
