The state information agency TDH reports that at the session of Turkmenistan’s Cabinet of Ministers held on 2 October, 2021 Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov gave a progress report on preparations for the official visit of President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov to Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of the visit the Turkmen-Uzbek economic forum is scheduled to be held, with its agenda having being presented to the head of state by Meredov.
It was also emphasized that regional connections between the two countries are being strengthened.In particular, the President reminded of the working visits of the khyakims of Dashoguz and Lebap velayats to Khorezm and Bukhara regions of Uzbekistan, which took place in September.
Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov charged the Foreign Minister with ensuring the high organizational level of preparations for the upcoming official visit.
Then Deputy Prime Minister overseeing agriculture Esenmyrat Orazgeldiev briefed the President on preparations for the purchase of products for the agricultural and chemical industries in Uzbekistan.
In his turn, the President signed a resolution permitting the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment Protection to conclude a range of agreements to purchase agricultural equipment, chemical products and fertilizers from Uzbek companies.
The head of state first raised preparations for the visit at the meeting with Esenmyrat Orazgeldiev on 6 September, 2021.
On 14 and 14 September, 2021 the Turkmen delegation headed by the Deputy Prime Minister visited Tashkent to participate in the session of joint commissions.
