On 12 October the state information agency TDH reported that President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov charged Deputy Prime Ministers M.
Meredov and Dadebai Amangeldiev with the task of exercising control over “prompt installation of gas, electricity and water meters at all enterprises and in residential houses and distribution of billing books to the residents to pay for public utilities”.
Minister of the Interior Isgender Mulikov was authorized to exercise control over executing the President’s instructions.
With a view of “the Khalk Maslakhaty resolution on improving provision of drinking water, gas and electricity to domestic consumers”, Gochmyrad Myradov was authorized by the head of the state “to exercise control over the additional budget revenues”.
Let us recall that at the first session of the Khalk Maslakhaty held on 25 September the President ordered “reviewing utility fees as the standard of living in Turkmenistan has improved”.
Turkmenistan’s authorities imposed a requirement to install utility meters last year after new rate for public utilities had been introduced starting from 1 November 2017.
