On Sunday, 19 April, 2020, President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov went on a bike ride to inspect the construction in progress in the southern part of Ashgabat.
The state information agency TDH reports that the bicycle ride kicked off from the monument built in honour of the Akhal-teke horse Yanardag, featured at the national coat of arms of Turkmenistan.
During the ride the President inspected the facilities which are under construction in the south of Ashgabat: the complex of Khalk Maslakhaty administrative buildings, the Congress centre, a hotel as well as Turkmenbashi and Senegat bank buildings.
Moreover, Berdymukhammedov inspected the monument to a bicycle, which is scheduled to be opened in May, in the run-up to the Day of the Bicycle.
According to the news outlet, after covering the distance of over 20 kilometers, Berdymukhammedov finished his bike ride at the Monument to Neutrality.
These facilities were inspected by the President on 9 April, when he personally approved the design of finishing materials and made modifications to the project designs.
Let us recall that at the Cabinet session held on 3 April, Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov ordered reducing the number of facilities under construction and building only the most essential facilities due to the economic crisis and reduced revenues.
It has been previously reported that ahead of the 25th anniversary of Neutrality 27 objects were scheduled to be built in the capital and 84 across the country.
