In the course of the Cabinet session held on 1 November, President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov stated that “the key objective of the state transport policy is establishing a highly efficient national transportation system aimed at meeting the demand for cargo carriage and passenger transportation and improving their safety and quality”.
The president expressed discontent with the performance of the Ministry of Railroad Transport and the State Marine and Inland Water Transport which failed to fulfill the plan based on the results of the past ten months, the state information agency TDH reports.
Reprimands were issued to the Minister of Railroad Transport Deryaguly Byashimov and head of the State Marine and Inland Water Transport Service Amanmyrat Gurdov for the unsatisfactory performance of their job responsibilities and failure to fulfill the objectives set for the agencies they are responsible for.
The relevant decrees were signed by the President.
