On 28 November President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhmammedov met with “Gazprom” CEO Aleksey Miller to discuss the resuming of Turkmen gas imports by the Russian company.
The state information agency TDH reports that “the intergovernmental agreement between Turkmenistan and Russia on gas cooperation until 2028 is the core document which regulates the efforts undertaken by both sides”.
The issues pertaining to gas production and gas refining as well as potential gas supplies through the main pipeline Central Asia Centre was on the agenda.
TDH does not specify the volumes and price of potential gas supplies.
Let us recall that in October President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov met with Chief of Staff of the Russian Federal government Konstantin Chuychenko and “Gazprom” CEO Aleksey Miller. Based on the results of the meeting Miller declared the intention to resume the imports of Turkmen gas effective 1 January 2019 and emphasized that the agreements on the volume and prices will be reached “in the shortest possible time”.
On 13 November it was reported that “Turkmengas” and “Gazprom” are likely to conclude the settlement agreement pertaining to gas prices in the lawsuit filed to the Stockholm Court of Arbitration.
