Today, the President of Turkmenistan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held the first meeting of the State Security Council this year.
Outlining the range of issues on the agenda, the head of state noted that today it is necessary to sum up the results of the work of the country's military and law enforcement agencies for 2020, as well as to define tasks for the foreseeable future.
The first to speak was the Minister of Defense B. Gundogdyev, who reported on the progress of the comprehensive military reform initiated by the leader of the nation in order to steadily strengthen the power of the country's Armed
Forces, on the training of professional personnel, as well as on the creation of the most favorable conditions for service and life of servicemen.
Summing up the report, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country noted that the National Army must vigilantly stand guard over the greatest achievements of the era of power and happiness and consistently implement the military-political strategy of the Turkmen state.
- The ideological core of this Strategy, - Berdimuhamedov emphasized, - the defensive Military Doctrine, developed taking into account the neutral status of the country and our peaceful foreign policy course.
The President of Turkmenistan stressed that, guided by this Doctrine, the state will continue to systematically strengthen the material and technical base of all branches of the military, take care of the personnel, taking all measures to improve the living conditions, work and rest of officers and soldiers.
At the same time, the head of the Turkmen state demanded to keep discipline and military order in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the country under vigilant control, taking into account the special importance and responsibility of the tasks set, to intensify efforts to improve combat training and patriotic education of young military personnel in the spirit of loyalty to the sacred civil and military duty.
The leader of the nation instructed to hold the upcoming celebrations on the occasion of the Defenders of the Fatherland Day at a high level and begin preparations for a worthy meeting of the glorious anniversary date celebrated this year - the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence.
Also, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief gave instructions on the strict implementation of the provisions on dismissal from the Armed Forces, other troops and military bodies of military personnel doing military service on conscription, and on the next conscription of citizens of Turkmenistan for military service.
Then the floor was given to the Minister of Internal Affairs M. Chakyev, who, reporting on the results of the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the past year, focused on the measures taken to maintain public order and stability in the country, protect the legal rights and freedoms of citizens, as well as prevent crime.
Particular attention was paid to work on ensuring fire safety and improving the activities of the road supervision service in order to prevent accidents on highways.
Having listened to the report, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, dwelling on the main tasks facing the employees of the internal affairs bodies of Turkmenistan, stressed that it is necessary to strengthen work on the prevention of offenses, including on strict observance of traffic rules, having addressed specific instructions to the Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The head of the State Border Service Sh.Durdyev reported on the results of the activities of the structure headed by him, which is entrusted with a responsible mission - to ensure reliable protection of the sacred borders of the Motherland, as well as measures taken in the past year to equip border posts, increase the level of combat training of border guards.
After listening to the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded to continue to ensure the inviolability of the land and sea borders of our Motherland, as well as strict control over the observance of military discipline.
Emphasizing the enormous responsibility entrusted to the valiant defenders of the Fatherland, the leader of the nation emphasized that, in fulfilling their military duty, they must be very vigilant.
At the same time, it is important to remember that the state border of Turkmenistan has always been and should always remain the border of friendship with all neighboring states, with which our country has been linked by close ties of good neighborliness since ancient times.
The results of the activities carried out in 2020 to further develop the national judicial system, carried out taking into account the requirements of a new historical era, in strict accordance with international norms, as well as to improve the professional level of judges, were reported by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court G. The Prosecutor General B. Atdaev, who then spoke, reported on the work done over the past year, in particular, on the results of checks on compliance with the law in all spheres of the state's life, as well as on the multifaceted activities for the prevention of offenses.
Speaking about the importance of the work carried out by the prosecutor's office, the head of Turkmenistan reiterated that it must meet the lofty goals and objectives of the new historical era, the priorities of the policy of our state, the most important value of which is the person, his happiness and well-being.
The leader of the nation also ordered to strengthen the work on the selection and placement of personnel, who must always guard the rule of law and order, which are the basis of peace and cohesion in modern society.
During the meeting, documents were signed on the appointment and dismissal of prosecutors.
Then the floor was given to the Minister of National Security G. Annaev, who reported on the fulfillment of the tasks previously set by the head of state and the measures taken to maintain stability, legality and law and order in Turkmenistan.
Focusing on the key role of the Ministry of National Security in maintaining internal social and political stability, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the need to further strengthen the foundations of a peaceful, creative life of the Turkmen society, the unity and cohesion of the nation as an essential condition for the further economic and spiritual prosperity of our Motherland.
The next speaker was Minister of Justice B. Muhamedov, who reported on the implementation of previously given instructions to further improve the country's legislative base, as well as on the preparation of new draft laws designed to become a reliable support for the successful solution of the designated tasks of the socio-economic development of our sovereign state.
Having listened to the report, the President of Turkmenistan drew attention to the need to further advance legal reform, within the framework of which the national legislative framework is being brought into line with international law.
“The requirement of today is a steady increase in the legal literacy of the population by clarifying the current legislation and providing qualified legal assistance through the organization of consultations of citizens,” Berdymuhamedov stressed.
Further, the chairman of the State Migration Service B. Ovezov reported on the activities carried out over the past year in the reporting units, in particular, to improve the level of training of workers and improve their working methods.
Speaking about the importance of the multifaceted work carried out by the Service, which plays a significant role in the development and strengthening of friendly, constructive relations of Turkmenistan with foreign countries, the leader of the nation gave the head of the department relevant instructions.
Further, the Chairman of the State Customs Service M. Hudaykuliyev reported on the state of affairs in the structure entrusted to him, as well as on practical steps to improve the efficiency of the work of customs points, taking into account the difficult situation in the world.
Noting the significant contribution of the employees of the Service to the protection of the economic interests of our country, the health and well-being of its population, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed to continue to pay priority attention to improving the quality of customs services provided, ensuring prompt and thorough inspection of all goods and cargo passing through the border.
Then Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Secretary of the State Security Council Ch.Amanov, who reported on the results of the work of law enforcement agencies for 2020 and, in general, on the multifaceted activities of the State Security Council, which plays an important coordinating role in the successful advancement of the large-scale military reform initiated by the Turkmen leader.
Summing up the report, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country once again emphasized the purely defensive nature of the Military Doctrine, aimed exclusively at strengthening national security and increasing the power of the army, guarding the creative and prosperous life of the Turkmen people.
As the leader of the nation noted, independent Turkmenistan, which is steadily pursuing a policy based on the principles of peacefulness, good neighborliness and positive neutrality, stands exclusively for mutual trust and respect in interstate relations.

Improving the social and living conditions of servicemen and their families will remain one of the key directions of the military reform, the Turkmen leader said, giving specific orders to the Deputy Prime Minister, Secretary of the
