Today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed the issues of expanding export routes of the Turkmen natural gas supplies at a meeting with the participation of the Deputy Prime Ministers for economy, foreign policy as well as fuel and energy, the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television reported.
Speaking with a report on the work done, Deputy Prime Minister Shahym Abdrakhmanov, who oversees the fuel and energy sector, assured that in order to successfully fulfill the instructions of the head of state to increase the volume of the Turkmen natural gas to the world markets as well as expand the international gas pipeline routes, coordinated work of relevant organizations will be established.
"In this context, it is necessary to pay special attention to the constructive ties development with the transit countries of the Turkmen natural gas as well as the intensification of the Turkmenistan-AfghanistanPakistanIndia gas pipeline building," Berdimuhamedov stated, giving the Deputy Prime Minister a number of instructions in this regard.
The head of state noted that the work should be performed in accordance with the economic policy of our state in the oil and gas industry in Turkmenistan that has huge reserves of hydrocarbon resources.
"At present, it is necessary to pay special attention to strengthening the role of the fuel and energy complex in the national economy as well as its material and technical base," the President of Turkmenistan said.
Stressing the importance of the active application of technological innovations and digital technologies as well as practical achievements of modern science in this area, the Turkmen leader ordered to keep this work under constant control.
Addressing the Deputy Prime Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of regular building up of the multi-vector international cooperation.
"The initiatives promoted by Turkmenistan are designed to contribute to the achievement of the ambitious goals of the third millennium and the successful solution of the tasks defined in "The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" adopted by the Community of Nations," the head of state stressed, emphasizing the need to further strengthen the country's position in the international space.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the successful implementation of the large-scale projects prepared for the fuel and energy industry should be approached very responsibly and comprehensively.
