The eighth stage of the IBU World Cup 2020-2021 (on February 23 on March 1) will not take place in Beijing because of the world situation with coronavirus, informed the International Biathlon Union (IBU).
IBU notes that stage cancellation is connected with failure of test competitions which should pass in December, 2020, but will not take place because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The new adapted program of test competitions has been entered by the International Olympic Committee, International Paralympic Committee and Olympic Games’ Organising Committee in Beijing, as transfers TASS.
Meanwhile, the Finnish resort of Kontiolahti plans to hold competitions of the World Cup of the International Biathlon Union from November, 27 to November 29 and from November 30 to December 6 and to allow the limited quantity of fans.
If instructions of the authorities change so that public will not be admitted, money will be returned all who has bought tickets, organizers promise.
And here the World Championship in biathlon will pass in German Oberhof without spectators because of COVID-19. It is planned for January, 4-17.
